On the 20th anniversary
of the release of Nelson Mandela, which heralded
the start of a miraculous and peaceful change
in South Africa, we are proud to be a part of
the re-positioning of Edu-Peg. This is an inspirational
educational project that has positively influenced
the lives of over 1.6 million underprivileged
children of the Rainbow Nation, and that has
enabled literacy and numeracy education in thousands
of schools.
“The Youth of our country are the valued
possession of the nation.
Without them there is no future. Their needs
are immense and urgent.”
Nelson Mandela - From his address to the House
of Parliament, Cape Town, 24 May 1994.
Like many not-for-profit organisations the
world over, Edu-Peg faces finite limits in terms
of funding what is essentially an infinite need:
Support for the education of South Africa’s
under-privileged children. Their major long-standing
sponsor is SACTWU – the Southern African
Clothing and Textile Workers Union – and
given the challenges post the Global Financial
Crisis, Edu-Peg needs to source additional funds
from new sources of sponsorship.
DesignStreet is working with Edu-Peg rebrand
the organisation and build it so that sponsors
in South Africa and abroad can gain a clear
understanding of the project, what it does,
and what is has achieved, and contribute tangible
support to enabling the amazing work to continue.
We are blessed to live in a country where
access to excellent education is the norm, and
where massive resources are dedicated to delivery.
South Africa is not as fortunate, hence our
involvement in this worthy project.
A link will be established where donations
can be made directly to Edu-Peg in support of
the projects activities and to enable its continued
growth.

manager, is the sister of DesignStreet’s
